This purpose of the
Church-State Network is to connect concerned progressive activist, advocates, and
organizations supporting the separation of church and state. With
the activities of our network, we can keep our members educated and
alerted to the attacks upon the separation of church and state by the
radical religious right. We are concerned with many church-state
issues including organized prayer in school, vouchers and other
government funding to private schools, charitable choice (government
funding to religious charities), religious instruction in school,
posting of the Ten Commandments and other religious documents in public
buildings, reproductive rights, gay and lesbian rights, government
funding to hospitals that limit services based on religious beliefs, and
other issues.
